    @nugor1 I didn’t say they are the same game, I just simply said if you think RE5 is really RE4.5, then the same thing can be said over RE2. If anything, RE5 different quite a bit from RE4 with it’s overall presentation. The entire menu system was redone, having it take place in real time, and giving you limited space throughout. I would love to be given three or so examples of how RE2/3 was different from RE1 in terms of gameplay.

    @4LackOfaBetterNam3 See I would disagree and say RE2 did add a lot to be considered a different game, RE3 really didn’t. Bear in mind here I didn’t play RE3 but if it is simply the same game, same levels, etc with little actually new then yeah it was definitely lazy on Capcom’s behalf. I definitely didn’t get RE5 because it does just seem more of the same. You can have many games on one engine, engines are expensive but it just seemed to many like another shooting range with little innovation.

    @nugor1 RE2 used the same engine, same controls, gave you the option to play as 2 characters, a guy and a girl, and mainly took place in a large enclosed area. It had puzzles, backtracking and scary scenes. In all ways, RE2 was more of the same, as was RE3.

    @4LackOfaBetterNam3 I’d say RE2 changed up enough to make it different, RE3 was definitely a rehashed copy. From what I played of it I liked RE3 more than 2. Nemesis was great.

    @thiagofragalm Uhm, RE3 was the first RE game I bought when I was like 8, I was hooked on the series from then on and have every single game, so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t bad.

    Capcom clearly doesn’t want to make an actual Resident Evil game, because they keep straying further and further from the original formula that made the first few games successful. The only reason they are using the Resident Evil title, is brand recognition. IMO they should just call it “Zombie hunter 3000″ or something, and avoid all the outrage.

    @nugor1 then in that case, RE2 and RE3 were RE1.5 and 1.6, because so little was changed. RE3 actually took place in the place as RE2, and had you go through the same areas.

    Resident evil died in RE3… everything after that is some one random thing with zombies.

    There is no excuse for stilted controls. Resident Evil 4 had amazing controls compared to the first few games, and it is the best in the series. Anyone who says otherwise is blinded by nostalgia.

    They don’t need to make new Resident Evil games, just keep coming out with remakes/updated versions of Zero, 1, 2 , and 3…yes I excluded Code Veronica, 4, and 5 on purpose….
