   @darkened78 it was really nobody’s fault…even if the lookouts saw the iceberg a little bit earlier the titanic was to big of a vessel to get past the iceberg. The movie kinda stretches the truth about that part being the lookouts fault.

   @brion1800 The water is pretty accurate. However the the lighting in this movie is really unrealistic because light bulbs in 1912 were not nearly as bright as they are in this film. Plus everything is lit as if there is a full moon, which there wasn’t when the ship sank.

    @AnnaPalindrome1991 I believe B-52, 54, 56 were technically listed as unoccupied. The Strauss’ occupied the similar suites on the opposite side of the ship. The suites were originally intended to be occupied by Lord Pierre, but he was too sick to make the trip (sparing his life most likely) and it is assumed that Bruce Ismay took this set of suites for himself.

    Whenever I watch this movie I’m able to hold back tears until this exact scene when they continue playing. This is definitely the saddest movie.

    Now for Titanic geeks like myself, there has been much debate over whether or not the string players played “Nearer My God to Thee” as the boat was sinking or “Autumn” which Mr. Hartley played for the 1st class in the smoke room. In my opinion, “Nearer My God to Thee” would’ve been much more fitting than “Autumn”. It’s just so much more moving than Autumn would be

    Four friends deciding they’d rather die playing there instruments together one last time.

    Passengers trying to buy themselves a few more minutes of live.

    The crew trying desperately to save a few more souls in mist of all the chaos.

    They all know that no matter what they do they’ll likely never see tomorrow.

    They couldn’t have made this entire scene sadder…may the passenger’s and brave crew all rest in piece.
